Kirby Adams
Kirby Adams is the proud owner of LBK Insurance Partners, where he brings over 12 years of experience helping individuals and businesses protect what matters most. A former defensive back for Texas Tech University, Kirby learned the value of discipline, teamwork, and perseverance—qualities that continue to define his approach to leadership and client service today.
Outside of the office, Kirby is a devoted husband to Katy and a proud father to Austin and Wyatt. He enjoys spending his free time on the golf course, making memories with his family, and staying active in his church community. Kirby’s commitment to faith, family, and integrity drives everything he does, both personally and professionally.
Melanie Baird
Melanie was born and raised in Dayton, Ohio and has lived in Lubbock since 1996 with her husband Herb. The Baird family are avid tennis fans and play themselves. They have a daughter, Taylor.
Passionate about building professional relationships and helping others, Melanie thoroughly enjoys her work and gets great pleasure from making sure clients have everything they need. Melanie takes an educational approach when assisting clients choose the right tools to ensure they are happy with the product(s) they buy.
Melanie has worked in the insurance industry since 1998, beginning her career with a global leader in financial services and insurance solutions. She has also served in positions of agency management, claims management and client service with a large regional healthcare system and a national insurance agency. Melanie received her Bachelor of Science in organizational management from Lubbock Christian University.
Ric Johnson
Ric Johnson brings over 40 years of experience in the insurance industry, offering our clients deep knowledge, steady guidance, and a commitment to doing things the right way. Throughout his career, Ric has built a reputation for integrity, reliability, and taking the time to truly understand his clients’ needs so he can help protect what matters most to them.
Outside of work, Ric enjoys hunting, traveling with his wife, Charlotte, and spending quality time with his grandkids. Those passions reflect the same values he brings to his work—family, trust, and long-term relationships.
DARLA Hunley
Lubbock native Darla Hunley brings warmth and dedication to her role as a Commercial Customer Service Representative at Lubbock Insurance Partners. With deep roots in the West Texas community, Darla understands the importance of providing reliable, friendly, and personalized service to every client she assists. She loves helping her neighbors across West Texas protect what matters most and takes pride in treating every client like family; her dedication, attention to detail, and genuine care for clients reflects the locally owned values that define Lubbock Insurance Partners. Her caring nature and community spirit truly reflect the heart of Lubbock Insurance Partners.
Outside of work, Darla is a proud wife, mom of three and “Mimi” to a crew of grandchildren. Darla finds joy in the simple things — spending time with her husband Sammy, enjoying family gatherings, reading a good book, sipping coffee in the Ruidoso mountains, and golfing with her grandsons.
Tracy Vargas
With 38 years of experience in the insurance industry, Tracy Vargas brings a wealth of knowledge and dedication to her work. Over the decades, she has built strong relationships with clients and colleagues alike, known for her professionalism, integrity, and commitment to excellent service. Outside of work, Tracy enjoys spending time with her family and cheering on her grandkids at their sporting events. She loves to travel with her husband Bill, where they enjoy relaxing and making new memories together.
Jocelyn Byrd
Jocelyn Byrd is new to the insurance industry and brings a strong passion for customer service to her role. She is dedicated to creating positive experiences for clients by being attentive, approachable, and eager to help with their insurance needs. Jocelyn is excited to grow her knowledge in the industry and take pride in supporting clients every step of the way.
Outside of work, Jocelyn enjoys playing tennis, roller skating, and collecting vinyl records—interests that reflect her energetic, curious, and creative nature.
